C-TPAT (Authorized Economic Operator)
C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) is a voluntary joint initiative between customs importers, terminal operators, carriers and others in the supply chain to self-assess security. Hanjin Shipping became a member in November of 2002 and we are actively involved in the establishment of additional safety systems.

ISPS (International Code for the Security of Ships and Port Security)
Since the 9.11 terrorist attacks the IMO revised the SOLAS(Safety of Life at Sea) regulations to prevent the same incident from occurring at sea. One of the main clauses to be revised was the “International Code for the Security of Ships and Port Security (ISPS)” All of Hanjin Shipping operated vessels and port facilities, including ones we call at are ISPS certified.

24 Hour Rule & 10+2 Program
The US 24 hour rule was put in place in 2003 to block any possibilities of shipping being used a means of terrorist weapons transportation. Canada, Mexico and the EU are quickly implementing this regulation. The safe transportation of cargo is Hanjin Shipping’s priority and we are in compliance with the following regulations.
